"Hop in, Natalia."
Kerry smiled at Natalia, and then glanced over in my direction, and her expression changed completely. She looked at me like I was a piece of dirt, and to be honest, I felt like it.
"Um, hi Kerry. I'm Lyd.."
I was cut of by Kerry's beautiful voice.
"Lydia. I know who you are."
She rolled her eys and the minute Natalia had buckled up they were off. I watched them slowly turn into dots, and fade away in the distance. I sighed. Luckily, the bus was just turning the corner; I put my hand out and jumped on quickly. Mumbled my school,
"Brooklyns High."
And took the first seat I could find.

A few minutes into the journey I heard someone only centimetres away from me. "Lydia,hi! You okay? I'm fine, my weekend was great. I hope yours was. I didn't want to get up this morning..."
I muted off instantly when I knew who it was. It was Jake, my friend. He was lively and sweet. But he could become a real headache. I heard the sound of him chattering but wasn't really listening to his words.
"LYDIA?"
I heard Jake shouting.
"Sorry, what?"
I mumbled.
"I said did you want to go see a movie or something this Friday night?"
Me and Jake always did that every Friday night. But for some reason he always asked me every time.
"Course I do, Jake. I always do!"
I replied, trying to attempt a big smile.
"I just like to check, you know, in case you have other things planned..."
He shrugged. School was the next stop. I didn't know if this was good or bad. Good, getting away from Jake's irritating voice for a while, or bad, actually being at school..

6:00am, Monday morning.

I awoke; startled as my alarm clock played an irritating song. Although, it wasn't exactly a song, more of a repetitive beeping noise. I heard my door creep open, my mum walked in, without knocking, typical of her.
"Just checking you were up, hun."
"Yeah, sort of, but I'm still half asleep."
I shrugged.
I was at my wardrobe now, getting some clothes out, grumbling to myself.
"Come on babe, is school that bad?"
My mum asked, frowning.
"Sort of. I don't know. Like I said, I'm hardly awake..." O_O
I shrugged again.
"Okay, sorry for disturbing you. I'm leaving for work in a few minutes, so see you tonight, babe."
My mum said, while leaning in to kiss my cheek softly. I breathed in her beautiful, fruit scented perfume, and smiled.
"Bye mum, love you. I, umh.... better get a shower."
I told her, leaving the room.

7:30am.
I was now trudging through the mud, on my way to the bus stop, moaning and groaning because of the rain. I put up my umbrella and continued by journey. Could there ever be a worse day than a Monday? I noticed my best friend, Natalia, across the road; she was catching the bus bus with me this morning. That was the only thing I could look forward to, our chats. I smiled at her and wave, a little too enthusiastically. She smiled back, but then frowned,
"Umh, I forgot to tell you. I'm getting a ride from Kerry and her dad... you know who I mean?"
Course I did. She was only the most popular girl in school even though she was only in year eight, like me and Natalia. She has lush, blonde, curly hair, everyone wanting to be her friend. The type of girl you would see in the movies walking slow motion, just perfect. I sighed,
"Mmm, okay, doesn't matter. I will just catch the bus with.... with myself."
And of course, I mumbled the word myself. "Ok, sorry about that, Lydia."
She looked down at her feet, and with great timing for Natalia to escape me, Kerry and her father parked up beside the pavement in their expensive convertible.
